Gift Exchange

Creativity has always been such a beautiful thing to me, and I appreciate all of the people who boldly share their gifts with the world, whether it’s through writing or not. I am fortunate enough to express myself by writing in different ways, such as journaling, blogging, poetry, and songs.

I’ve been a part of the entertainment arts in some way throughout my entire life, starting with beauty pageants. I also think back to making up stories for my stuffed animals to bring to life, or the excitement I felt when my teacher presented new essay assignments to my class. And being an introvert, my favorite way to tell my parents I was upset was through a letter.

As a current TV producer and writer, I reflect back on how God has guided me every step of the way, even when I was blinded as to what direction I should go. He knew where he wanted me and lately, everything I’ve been through, achieved, or learned is beginning to make a little more sense.

So here’s to committing to growth, understanding, compassion, creativity, inspiration and faith. I’m excited, yet not anxious, to see where I’m led next. Thank you to those before me who paved the way, those who embolden me daily, and those who I will awaken their spark in the future.

Overall, I encourage everyone to create. No matter what it is. I don’t believe there are creative and non-creative people. We all have the capacity for imagination and the ability to contribute something to the world. Don’t hide that. Release your gifts.

Today

Today someone had a birthday. Today someone passed on to eternal life.

Today someone received good news. Today someone was hit with strife.

Today someone made a promise. Today someone was let down.

A new queen was empowered, another dropped her crown.

Yet today is a gift. The moment you're in now.

So why waste time on the why's, when you can focus on the how?

How will you use today to make an impact…

on your community, the world, even just those around you?

What have you been doing and what do you plan to do?

For you only have one today

- a short time before it becomes yesterday.

So start now.

Chasing your goals, dreams, even your fears.

Because these 'todays' will quickly become those years.

Use the gift you are given,

don't let it waste away

Because today someone gave their all, how have you used your day?
